(Mitsuoka, 1982) &lt;BR&gt;혈청 골레스테롤을 저하시켜 동맥경화를 예방하며(淺見, 1989 ; Yazawa, 1982), 또한 충치를 유발하는 Steptococcus mutans가 이용하기 어려우므로 감미료로 이용할 경우 설탕보다 충치발생을 효과적으로 억제 할 수 있다.
