A Bird in a Bottle

Humor.

A journalist and a monk are talking with each other. The monk says a question for meditation, ‘a bird in a bottle’, that his mentor had given him and once he realized for himself.

“A young bird unexpectedly entered a bottle and now it already grew up. So you have to take out the bird alive without breaking the bottle. How can you take out the bird in the bottle?”

Then the journalist asks back. “How did you take the bird out?”

The monk replies. “Why are you trying to steal my bird? You should take out the bird in your bottle.”

Recently I managed to get a clue on the question. The question implies that I should get out of any adherence or attachment. Simultaneously I have to realize a secret about life and death with mind of ‘only don’t know” and salvage whole living thing from suffering.

After that, when I was searching Google for other’s solution about the question, I ironically could see my own previous posting( http://blog.hani.co.kr/vitabrevis/3357 ) as a top priority in the retrieved results.

Even It's still in the middle of June, weather is simmering~.

I've got the managing role in my company and it's been tough recently. I prefer engineering or technical consulting role to management. However, my company's peculiar culture drives me to accept that new role.

One of Korean problematic characteristics is that kind of rigid career path, Though many problems can not be solved at onc　e, I think there're good ways to solve problems when I'm trying to.

I hope my life is not to simmer by outer heat. Instead, my life should be filled with innner passion.

Life is short and enjoy this moment for all of us !

Learning golf

I've started learning golf. More exactly, I registered the course to learn it. During recent years going to ski and swimming, I've enjoyed them very much. While I don't feel like learning it, some of my friends and associates have forced it by the reasons of getting along with them more often and future business relatonship.

Though I already registered the learning course a couple of days ago, I still hesitate whether to go to sport club. Rather than directly going there, I'm gathering golf video and watching it. My partner grumbles out to me why I payed the cost in advance.

Honestly I'm afraid to go there because I know about my undeveoped athelete. Among almost all sports, I've always been slow to learn the skill and self-reproached my dull physical sense.

Even starting or learning golf looks hard to me, there's no way for me to avoid it, so I have to learn it. It's little bit stressful but I will go in the pleasant mind.

북쪽 바다에서 청어잡이를 하는 어부들에겐 한 가지 큰 고민거리가 있었다.

청어를 잡아 이동하는 동안 더운 배 밑창에서 청어가 죽어버리거나 신선도가 떨어져버리는 것이 늘 문제였다.

그러나 유독 한 어부의 배 밑에는 늘 방금 잡은 듯 싱싱하게 펄떡이는 청어들로 넘쳐났다. 다른 어부들이 그 비결을 묻자, 그 어부가 대답했다. “청어 속에다 굶주린 메기를 몇 마리 집어 넣어 보시오. 메기녀석들이 청어를 쫓아다니는 통에, 청어들이 안 죽겠다고 발버둥을 치니깐 저리 싱싱하지, 허허”

Recent my blog life

I've been busy because blogging in wnetwork.hani.co.kr is so nice.
There're so many people and writings in that blog, so I can rarely visit here.

People's style in that blog is more nationalistic and politically takes a side of the poor. Many writings are focusing on the current pracitcal issues. They've more accurate views and assume critical attitudes about the current politics and nationawide economy.
I am, frankly, agree with many opinions in there. I'd say the style is somewhat due to the newspaper, Hani's tone of argument. Other newspapers view is closer to position of the opposite party which takes a side of the rich.

Actually richness is not to be blamed. Only some rich people who make money by undesirable ways should be criticized. However the opposite party only represents interests of the rich while the government and ruling party have weak competency and influence.
For example, the opposite party shows unclear opnions about the FTA agreement between Korea-US or retrieval　 wartime military operation right. More accurately, the rich side only insists its interest but the view has infirm viewpoint.

Koreans are still poor at discussion, expression and exact wording. I know we need more training but many people are trying to see the accurate side of the real world. Hani is one of the places which that kind of people read and write.
There're so many good bloggers and writers such as 누룩, 은물결, 배달부, 하땅사 and so on.(later, I will write about the nice pople.)

In short, I'm so pleased that I can exchange my opinion with so nice people in the Hani blog even my yahoo blog still goes through loneliness. Let me post impressive opinions here and there as many as possible.

아빠 없이 아이를 키우는 엄마가 꾸겨진 4달러를 들고 동네 모퉁이 구멍가게에 분유를 사러 왔다.

분유통을 계산대로 가져가니 주인은 7달러 69센트라 말한다.

힘없이 돌아서는 아이 엄마 뒤로 가게 주인은 분유통을 제자리에 올려놓는다.

그러다가 분유통을 슬며시 떨어뜨린다.

주인은 아이엄마를 불러 세우고 찌그러진 분유통은 반값이라 말한다.

4불을 받고 20센트를 거슬러 준다.

아이엄마는 자존심을 상하지 않고 분유를 얻었고 가게 주인은 3불 89센트에 천국을 얻었다.

정말 멋진 거래다.

(사례2)

그 남자는 벌써 6년째, 고속도로 모퉁이에 서서 신문을 판다.

차 안에 앉아 신호를 기다리는 사람이 그의 고객이다.

나이는 오십이 넘은 백인인데 신문 팔기엔 사연이 있어 보인다.

낡은 옷이지만 항상 단정하고 야구 모자를 쓰고 있다.

신문 파는 일만이 그가 하는 일은 아니다.

그는 지나가는 모든 사람에게 인사를 한다.

아침 출근길에 바쁜 사람들이 고속도로에 들어서기 위해 신호를 기다리면서 그의 인사를 받지 않을 방법이 없다.

그의 인사는 다정하며 코앞에 와서 손을 흔들어 대기에 누구든 인사를 받아야 된다.

처음엔 그의 인사를 무시하던 사람들도 이제 그가 다가오면 먼저 인사를 한다.

그는 신문을 15센트에 사서 50센트를 받는다.

재수가 좋은 날은 40불을 번다.

어떤 이가 차창을 내리고 신문을 산다.

1불을 주며 잔돈은 그냥 넣어 두라 말한다.

그는 말한다.

“나는 사업가입니다. 동냥을 하는 게 아닙니다.”

기어이 50센트를 돌려주고 고맙다며 인사를 한다.

건너편 신문팔이는 동냥을 포함해서 하루에 30불 정도를 번다.

그러나 그는 요즘 80불을 버는 날도 있다.

그는 진짜 사업가이고 사업이 무엇인가를 안다.
