2010년 1월10일 / 성경과 함께 새 해를 시작하십시오

새 해를 맞이하면서 우리가 세워야 할 목표가 있다면 한 해 동안에 성경 전체를 통독하는 것입니다. 물론 이전에 성경을 통독하겠다는 목표를 세웠다가 실패한 경험들이 있을 것입니다. 솔직히 말씀드려서 늘 성경과 함께 사는 목회자도 일 년에 성경을 한 번 통독한다는 것이 쉬운 일이 아닙니다. 그런 까닭에 너무 낙심하거나 자책하지 마십시오. 우리가 성경 통독에 실패한 이유가 여러 가지 있을 것입니다. 그 중에 하나는 그 중요성을 철저하게 인식하지 못하기 때문입니다.

성경을 날마다 읽는 것보다 중요한 일은 없습니다. 성경은 영혼의 양식입니다. 우리 영혼에 생명을 공급해 주는 능력입니다. 성경은 하나님이 우리 손에 쥐어준 검입니다. 성경은 우리에게 지혜를 주고, 깊은 깨달음을 얻게 해 줍니다. 하나님은 성경을 통해 우리에게 말씀하십니다. 성경은 하나님의 음성을 듣는 통로입니다. 성경은 우리의 안내자입니다. 성경은 우리 길을 비추어 주는 빛입니다. 우리는 성경을 읽는 것을 최우선 순위에 두어야 합니다.

우리는 중요한 일보다 긴급한 일에 노예가 되어 살 때가 많습니다. 긴급한 일 때문에 중요한 일을 미루어 두는 것은 어리석은 일입니다. 성경을 읽는 것보다 더 중요한 일은 없습니다. 하나님이 가장 중요하신 분입니다. 하나님의 말씀이 가장 중요합니다. 하나님의 음성을 듣는 것보다 더 중요한 일은 없습니다. 성경을 읽고 기도하는 일에 우선순위를 두십시오.

성경을 읽고 기도하는 일은 우리의 영혼을 조율하는 것과 같습니다. 악기는 조율을 해 줄 때 아름다운 소리를 발합니다. 악기는 정기적으로 조율해 주지 않으면 제 소리를 내지 못합니다. 조율이란 악기로 하여금 제 소리가 나도록 도와주는 것입니다. 더 좋은 소리가 아니라 마땅히 내야 할 소리를 내도록 도와주는 것입니다. 하나님은 우리가 누구의 흉내를 내는 것보다 우리 자신이 되길 원하십니다. 우리의 아름다움은 우리 자신이 되는 것입니다. 하나님이 본래 의도하신 우리 자신이 되는 것입니다. 우리에게 맞는 향기를 발하고, 우리에게 맞는 소리를 발하는 것입니다. 우리에게 맞는 빛을 발하는 것입니다. 우리는 우리 자신다울 때 가장 아름답습니다.

성경을 한 해 동안에 통독하기 위해서는 전략을 세워야 합니다. 날마다 하루에 구약 3장, 신약 1장을 읽으면 성경 전체를 한 해 동안에 통독할 수 있습니다. 물론 그 이상 읽어도 됩니다. 때로는 밀린 성경을 주말에 다 읽을 수도 있습니다. 중요한 것은 성경을 읽을 때마다 성경읽기 점검표에 표시를 해 가면서 읽는 것입니다. 지난 송구영신예배와 신년주일에 성도님들에게 나누어 드린 성경암송책자 뒤에 보시면 성경 읽기표가 있습니다. 성경 읽기 표에 날마다 읽은 성경을 표시하십시오. 성경을 읽는 중에 깨달은 말씀을 노트에 기록하시면 더욱 좋습니다.

하나님의 영광을 드러낸 인물들은 한결같이 성경을 사랑했습니다. 아브라함 링컨은 성경을 사랑하고, 성경을 통해 배운 지혜를 따라 사는 중에 훌륭한 대통령이 되었습니다. 그는 성경에 대해 다음과 같이 말했습니다.

“나는 성경이 하나님께서 인간에게 주신 가장 큰 선물이라 믿습니다. 나는 하나님의 선물인 성경의 보화를 캐기 위해 날마다 성경을 묵상했습니다. 이 성경 속에는 예수 그리스도의 모든 값진 보화들이 다 들어 있기 때문이지요.”

성경 사랑은 그의 어머니 낸시에 의해 전수되었습니다. 그가 아홉 살 때 세상을 떠난 어머니로부터 유언과 함께 가보로 물려받은 것이 성경이었습니다. 그의 어머니는 “내가 너에게 12만 평의 땅을 물려주는 것보다 이 한 권의 성경책을 물려주는 것을 진심으로 기쁘게 생각한다. 너는 성경을 읽고 성경 말씀대로 살아가는 사람이 되어 다오.”라는 유언을 남겼습니다. 링컨은 어머니의 유언대로 성경을 사랑했고, 성경을 통해 배운 지혜로 훌륭한 지도자가 되었습니다.

성경과 함께 새 해를 시작하십시오. 성경을 사랑하십시오. 성경을 붙잡으십시오. 그러면 성경이 성도님들을 붙잡아 줄 것입니다. 하나님의 축복이 새 해를 맞이한 성도님들의 가정에 넘치시길 빕니다.

Should there be a must-have goal for the new year, it will have to be to read through the entire Bible during this year. I'm sure that many of you have had that goal before but were unable to complete. To be frank, it is hard even for pastors to read through the Bible in a year. Given this fact, don't be discouraged or treat yourself so harshly. I'm sure there are varying reasons for our inability to complete this mission. One of the reasons, I believe, is because we have yet to thoroughly realize the importance of it.

There is nothing more important than the daily reading of the Bible. Bible is the food for the soul; it is the power that supplies life to our souls. God has handed us the Bible as a sword in our hands. The Bible gives us understanding and wisdom. God speaks to us through the Bible. Bible is the channel through which we hear God's voice. Bible is our guide; it is the light that illumines our way. We must place the reading of the Bible at the top of our priorities.

We often becomes slaves to the urgent matters rather than the important. It is foolish to put off important matters because of urgent matters. There is nothing more important than reading the Bible. God is of the utmost importance. Therefore, God's Word deserves our top priority. There is nothing important than listening to the voice of God. Place your top priority in reading of the Word and praying.

Reading the Bible and praying can be likened to the fine-tuning of our souls. Musical instruments make beautiful sounds when they are finely tuned. Without the fine-tuning, the instrument cannot make the optimal sound. Fine-tuning helps bring out the instrument's true sound. It doesn't make it produce an "elaborate" sound, but the sound it's supposed to make. God wants us to be us and not the imitation of someone we are not. Your true beauty is found when you are being you - the God-intended "you". You are more beautiful when you find your original fragrance and your original sound. That is how we become illuminated and come to find our original beauty.

In order to read through the Bible in a year, we need strategy. To read through the Bible in a year, one must read 3 chapters of the Old Testament and 1 chapter of the New. You can obviously read more a day, or catch up on the missed chapters on weekends. It is important that you mark the reading calendar and check off the chapters you've read as you go. On the back of the Bible memorization booklets you all have received at the new year service, you will find the reading calendar. Mark them off as you read through and make notes of important findings on a separate note.

Those who lived to reveal God's glory have all loved the Bible. Abraham Lincoln was a man that loved the Bible and as he lived a life according to the wisdom found in the Bible, he has become a great president. The following is what he said of the Bible:

"I believe the Bible is the best gift God has ever given to man. In order to find the many gifts contained within the Bible, I meditate on it daily. All the good from the Savior of the world is communicated to us through this book."

The love of the Bible was passed down to him by his mother Nancy. He had received a Bible from his mother when she was passing away when he was only nine. In her will, she wrote, "I am more happy to leave you this Bible than twelve hundred thousand acres of land. I want you to read this Bible and live according this Word." Lincoln lived his life just as his mother had willed - he'd loved the Bible and the embracing of its wisdom made him become a great leader.

Begin the new year with the Bible. Love the Bible. Hold on to the Bible and the Bible will hold on to you. I pray that God's blessings will fill the households of our members at this new year.

저는 새 해가 좋습니다. 새 해가 좋은 것은 새롭게 시작할 수 있기 때문입니다. 새 해는 하나님의 선물입니다. 과거를 떠나 새롭게 시작하라고 하나님이 주신 선물입니다. 과거를 떠날 수 있다는 것이 행복이요, 새롭게 출발할 수 있다는 것이 은혜입니다. 우리는 머물고 싶은 과거가 있고, 떠나고 싶은 과거가 있을 것입니다. 그러나 우리 모두는 과거를 떠나야 합니다. 과거는 돌이킬 수 없습니다. 돌아갈 수도 없습니다. 희망찬 새 해를 위해 우리는 과거를 떠나야 합니다. 새 해를 맞이하는 우리들이 해야 할 일은 꿈을 꾸는 것입니다. 꿈은 미래를 창조하는 재료입니다. 꿈은 미래를 위해 심는 작은 씨앗과 같습니다. 꿈은 처음에는 작은 씨앗처럼 우리 가슴에 심기어 집니다. 그 작은 씨앗을 심고, 상상력과 기도로 물을 줄 때 씨앗은 점점 자라게 됩니다. 씨앗을 심지 않고 열매를 맺을 수 없는 것처럼, 꿈을 꾸지 않고는 미래가 없습니다.

아름다운 미래는 오직 꿈을 통해 만들어집니다. 어떤 의미에서 오늘 우리의 모습은 지나간 과거의 꿈의 결과일 수 있습니다. 그렇다면 우리의 미래는 오늘 우리가 품고 있는 꿈에 의해 만들어져 간다는 사실을 기억해야 합니다. 물론 우리의 미래가 오직 우리의 꿈에 달려 있는 것은 아닙니다. 때로는 우리가 꾸는 꿈보다 더 놀라운 일들이, 하나님의 은혜 안에서 우리 앞에 전개될 수 있습니다. 하나님은 우리의 꿈과 상관없이 무슨 일이든지 행하실 수 있습니다. 그런 면에서 우리의 미래는 하나님의 손에 달려 있습니다. 그렇지만 하나님은 일반적으로 우리에게 꿈을 주시고, 꿈을 통해 일하신다는 것을 잊지 말아야 합니다.

하나님은 꿈꾸시는 하나님이십니다. 천지를 창조하실 때 하나님은 꿈을 꾸셨습니다. 꿈은 생각입니다. 꿈은 상상력입니다. 꿈은 마음에 그림을 그리는 것입니다. 건축가의 청사진과 같습니다. 청사진이 없는 건물은 없습니다. 먼저 집을 건축하기 전에 청사진이 필요한 것처럼, 우리의 미래는 꿈에 의해서 먼저 건축됩니다.

꿈의 내용은 우리가 소유하고 싶은 것, 우리가 성취하고 싶은 것, 우리가 되고 싶은 인물로 구분될 수 있습니다. 하나님이 주신 꿈은 이기적이지 않습니다. 우리 자신만을 위한 것이 아닙니다. 꿈은 하나님이 우리에게 맡기신 사명과 관련되어 있습니다. 꿈은 야망이 아닙니다. 꿈은 하나님의 비전입니다. 하나님이 주신 꿈은 남을 위한 것입니다. 결코 우리 자신만을 위한 것이 아닙니다. 하나님이 주신 꿈은 이 세상을 더욱 아름답게 만들기 위한 것입니다. 고통 중에 있는 사람들을 돕기 위한 것입니다. 하나님이 우리에게 주신 꿈이 성취될 때 수많은 사람들이 유익을 얻게 될 것입니다. 무엇보다 하나님께 영광을 돌리게 될 것입니다.

하나님이 주신 꿈을 분별하는 길은, 마음의 간절한 소원을 점검하는 것입니다. 그 간절한 소원이 가치 있고, 의미 있고, 선한 일이라면 하나님께서 우리 마음에 두신 것이 분명합니다. 하나님은 우리 마음에 소원을 두고 행하십니다(빌 2:13 ). 꿈을 꾸는 시간을 갖는다는 것은 마음의 소원을 점검하는 시간을 갖는다는 것을 의미합니다. 꿈을 꾸는 시간을 갖는다는 것은 떠오르는 선명한 꿈을 노트에 기록하는 것입니다. 그리고 그 꿈을 어떻게 성취할 것인가를 생각하며 계획을 세우는 것입니다. 어떤 대가를 지불할 때 그 꿈을 성취할 수 있는 가를 생각하는 것입니다. 꿈을 주시는 분은 하나님이십니다. 그러나 그 꿈을 키우고 성취하는 일은 우리가 해야 할 일입니다.

하나님은 우리에게 씨앗을 주시지만 하나님이 우리를 대신해서 씨앗을 심어 주시지는 않으십니다. 하나님이 씨앗을 주시지 열매를 주시지 않으십니다. 열매는 우리가 하나님이 주신 씨앗을 심고, 정성으로 가꾸어 맺는 것입니다. 하나님이 우리 마음에 꿈을 주십니다. 그 꿈을 키우는 것은 우리의 일입니다. 우리가 그 꿈을 성취해야 하고, 그 꿈을 성취하기 위해 대가를 지불해야 합니다. 지혜로운 사람은 하나님이 해 주실 일과 자신이 해야 할 일을 구별할 줄 아는 사람입니다. 꿈을 가진 사람들이 해야 할 일 가운데 가장 중요한 일은 기도하는 일입니다. 작은 꿈은 우리 스스로 성취할 수 있어도 큰 꿈은 하나님의 도우심이 없이는 성취할 수 없기 때문입니다. 하나님과 함께 새 해를 시작하십시오. 꿈과 함께 새 해를 시작하십시오. 기도와 함께 새 해를 시작하십시오. 새 해를 맞이한 성도님들 위에 하나님의 축복이 넘치시길 빕니다.

Jan 3, 2010 / Dream Is The Needed Ingredient To Create A New Future

I've always liked a new year, because you can start everything afresh. A new year is a gift from God. It is God's gift for us to leave the past and make a fresh start. Putting behind the past means happiness and being able to start afresh means grace. Every one of us has a past we want to dwell on and a past we would like to quickly put behind us. However, we must all leave behind the past. The past cannot be returned, neither can we go back to it. To face the hopeful new year, we must leave behind the past.

Our duty as we face the new year is to begin dreaming. Dream is the needed ingredient to create a new future. To dream is to plant a seed for future's sake. A dream planted first as a tiny seed within our hearts. After planting it, we must water it with imagination and prayers to see it grow. Just as one can't expect to see fruits without planting a seed, there can't be a future without a dream.

A beautiful future can only be made through your dreams. In some ways, our current picture is a direct result of the dream of our past. If so, we must remember that our future is being shaped by the very dreams we're dreaming today. I want to state the obvious that our future doesn't entirely depend on your present dreams. Sometimes results greater than what we dream of can unfold before our eyes through God's grace. God can do anything He wants regardless of our dreams. In that sense, our future is entirely in the hands of God. However, we mustn't forget the fact that God is the Giver of dreams and that He works often through dreams.

God is a Dreamer. God had a dream when He first created the world. Dream is a thought. Dream is imagination. Dream is painting a picture in the heart. It is like the blueprint of an architect. There are no buildings created without a blueprint. Just as a blueprint is necessary to build a house, our future is built first within our dreams.

The content of a dream can be distinguished by the things we desire to possess, to achieve, and to the kind of persons we wish to be. A God-given dream is never selfish. It is never just for me. A God-given dream is always linked with the God-given mission. Dream is not an ambition. Dream is God's vision. A God-given dream is for others. It is never just for myself. God-given dreams are intended to make this world more beautiful. They are intended to help those who are in suffering. When a God-given dream is accomplished, many are bound to benefit from it. Moreover, God will be most glorified.

In order to discern a God-given dream, we must reexamine our heart's earnest desires. If those desires support a worthy cause, they're meaningful, and for a good deed, then they are most certainly given to us by God. God works in you to will and to act according to His purpose(Philippians 2:13 ). To take the time to dream means to take the time to reexamine your heart's desires - it means to jot down clearly of the details of the dream that comes to your mind. And to think of ways you can achieve those dreams and make necessary plans. It means to think about the cost you need to pay in order to achieve those dreams. God gives us dreams. However, it is our duty to make them grow and to achieve.

God grants us seeds, but doesn't plant them for us on our behalf. God gives us seeds, but not fruits. Fruits are made only after we plant the God-given seeds and cultivate them. God gives us dreams in our hearts. Our job is to grow those dreams. We must work to achieve those dreams and pay the necessary price. A wise person is able to distinguish between the works that should be handled by God and by us. One of the most important works that a dreamer should fulfil is prayer. Small dreams can perhaps be achieved by yourself, but grander dreams can only be achieve through God's help. Begin the new year with God. Begin the new year with a dream. Begin the new year with prayers. May God's blessings overflow in the lives of our members in the coming year.

기다리는 사람이 누리는 복 / 눅 2:25-33

들어가는 말: 기다리는 사람은 복이 있습니다.
“그러나 여호와께서 기다리시나니 이는 너희에게 은혜를 베풀려 하심이요 일어나시리니 이는 너희를 긍휼히 여기려 하심이라 대저 여호와는 공의의 하나님이심이라 무릇 그를 기다리는 자는 복이 있도다” (사 30:18)

1. 하나님은 기다리는 사람에게 _____________________ 을 주십니다.
